Linda & Horeya
Linda Lubrano and Horeya Megahed were close friends I made at Bloomington. Over the years, I have been in sporadic touch with Linda, who is now a professor and lives in Washington D.C. But I lost contact with Horeya, who went back to Egypt. I searched for her several times once I got into the computer age, but never found her till two years ago, when I traced her to a women's organization, and wrote to the contact person, who gave me Horeya's e-mail address, warning me she seldom checked e-mail (she usually has others do all that for her, the person wrote.)
But she did see my e-mail and we are back in touch, sporadic it is true but better a New Year greeting than no contact at all. The wonders of cyberspace!
